Student steps into Bytron
By | 9th July 2019
The Bytron team were pleased to welcome student Adam Nilsson to the team for a week of work experience.
Adam, 15, a year 10 student at Caistor Grammar School, has a keen interest in coding and programming which he's developed through independent study outside of school. He spent the week working within the IT Support team where he was able to put his skills to use as he took on tasks including the installation of systems, alongside the rest of the team.
Ross Aitken, IT Support Manager at Bytron, said: "We were impressed by Adam's skills which is why he was able to get really involved in projects. The rest of the team shared a lot of information and advice which we hope will stay with Adam as he develops his knowledge further."
Adam is currently in his first year of GCSE's and would like to study Computing, Maths and Physics at A-Level and then onto University to study Computing or Physics. He commented: "I was looking around for a niche work experience placement and picked Bytron because it sounded really interesting. It has given me a good insight into what it's like to work in technology. The Support team have provided lots of tasks and they have given me loads of information."
To round off his week, Adam spent a day in the Marketing team learning about the different roles and the types of technology systems they use. He also had the opportunity to analyse the current website and put forward his suggestions for improving the homepage.
