Tim has been a part of the Bytron team now for over a year and is our Product Owner for skybook. He has recently moved to Cyprus making him one of our furthest, and sunniest, remote members in the team!
We have spoken to Tim to gain a better insight into both his role in the company and who he is as a person.
What is your job role?
"I am the Product Owner for skybook, my main responsibilities are to ensure that customers requirements are planned into a release cycle. Ensuring that the work is fully scoped and as per the requirement and then monitoring the delivery of this work. I am also responsible for ensuring that our own business roadmap is followed and looking at ways to continue to enhance the customers user experience."
What is your favourite thing about your role?
"I think the favourite part of my role is that I get to see customers’ requirements / enhancements from the early stages of discovery through to completion of the end product and knowing that I played apart in what the various airlines are using."
How have you progressed within your career?
"Since starting with Bytron I have progressed my career into an area that consolidates a lot of my past experience and knowledge from my time in the Royal Air Force in Air Traffic Control to being an Operations and Crewing manager with a regional airline. I can call on these to push myself further and have completed various online courses to ensure my career continues heading onwards and upwards."
What advice would you give to someone starting out in your area of the business?
"Being a team player is key and not being afraid to speak up and ask questions. You need to be organised and be able to prioritise your workload and be able to react to any last-minute issues or requests."
What have you recently accomplished personally that you’re proud of?
"I have just moved to Cyprus with my wife and 2 children as my wife was offered an opportunity with the RAF for an overseas posting. This was only made possible due to the support from the management team at Bytron."
What is your favourite season, and why?
"My favourite season is summer the days are longer and the good weather helps keep spirits high."
Tim is a great asset to the company and it has been a pleasure to find out what motivates him within his role and see how the company has had a positive affect on his career and personal life.
