The Flight Performance Manager at Mavi Gök Airlines (MGA) approached us as they were operating with paper-based processes and looking for a fast, streamlined EFB onboarding solution for their flight operations.

MGA Airlines is a Turkish charter airline based in Antalya, providing leisure charter services, aircraft maintenance, passenger services and wet-lease operations. Its fleet includes Boeing 737s, Boeing 777s and Cessna 208B aircraft.

Time was of the essence

MGA had encountered unexpected issues and delays with a previous EFB provider, making it crucial to go live quickly within their flight operations.

With this in mind, MGA conducted a short trial of skybook, giving them the opportunity to evaluate the platform before confidently moving forward with onboarding.

Our team successfully integrated with their existing flight planning provider and charting application, saving valuable time in the process.

Their crew and scheduling provider were also able to integrate seamlessly using our own API capabilities.

Training & EFB approval

To help with their CAA EFB approval process, training sessions were conducted for the team members who would be using skybook, and they each received a training certificate as proof.

MGA were also provided with our EASA approval documentation to help speed up the process. They also have full access to our computer based training, online resources and support service.

Onboarding time

Overall it took just 3 months for MGA to start using the live environment for EFB and dispatch, including other features such as the post-flight reporting and analytics.

An impressive onboarding time, especially considering similar processes can take somewhere in the region of a year or more for airlines to coordinate, depending on priorities.

The MGA team were keen to maximise the capabilities of skybook, utilising features including Reports, Documents, forms, checklists, crew and maintenance data within the EFB app.

This information is then transmitted to the Ground Portal, providing greater visibility for compliance, oversight and auditing.
