Back in 2013 Lauren joined the company in the position of Administration Assistant. Lauren had experience within the administration sector having previously completed her business administration apprenticeship, she continued to gain experience and skills within numerous administrative roles prior to joining the company. Lauren was keen to move forwards and joined Bytron with the aim to progress in her career.
In January 2018, Lauren was promoted to Administration Officer where she continued to develop experience in her career. Lauren had the opportunity to complete an accounting course to increase her knowledge and skill within this sector to support her role in the company. Alongside work, Lauren achieved both her level 2 and level 3 AAT qualifications. “These courses really helped develop my accounting, bookkeeping, and finance knowledge giving me the confidence to pursue greater responsibility within the company”.
Now, Lauren is our Corporate Services Team Leader, having been offered the role in June 2021, Lauren’s main duties lie within administration and finance, although as a team, Corporate Services are responsible for the internal operations of the company.
Lauren said “I felt a little out of my comfort zone accepting the position, but I am glad I took the opportunity. It has been a great learning experience and I really enjoy the role. Having a great team behind you always makes your job easier, it’s crazy to think I have been in this role for two years already!”
As part of her leadership role within the company, Lauren completed her CMI Level 5 qualification in management and leadership.
“I am still learning within my current role and due to the nature of the job there is always something new to focus on, it can be fast paced but that is what I enjoy about it! The variety of tasks and responsibilities keep me focused and engaged. It is also great to have a highly knowledgeable team that you can rely on for support.”
Phoebe Stanworth, Corporate Services Administration Officer, said “During the time Lauren has been my manager she has provided me with consistent support and encouragement, facing any challenge thrown at her. Lauren always goes above and beyond for her team and the business and deserves the recognition. A perfect example of the company’s values and an even better asset to us.”
We asked Lauren what she most enjoys about the working at Bytron for her to have stuck with us for a whole decade! Lauren said, “The company is great at recognising and rewarding its employees, over the years Bytron have really upped their game and the job offers a lot of perks including flexible working hours, enhanced holiday/sickness entitlement, as well as learning and development opportunities to name a few.”
Throughout the last 10 years Lauren has accomplished many things within her personal life that she is proud of, especially within recent years.
“Finally, after 2 years of living back with the parents, we have finally moved into our not so new house! The house needed a complete renovation and although it’s far from complete, we have made huge progress. I have loved getting stuck into every aspect of the renovation, from knocking walls down to picking from multiple paint samples! We did this on a budget, so it’s been a struggle, but I am really proud of how much we have managed to achieve.”
